FTA1300 (MarkIII+)

The Firetrol FTA1300 MarkIII+ Fire Pump Controller is a wye-delta (open transition) electric fire pump controller designed to control and protect motor-driven fire pumps in fire protection systems. It automatically starts the fire pump when a drop in system pressure is detected and maintains continuous pump operation during emergency conditions.

The controller operates using the Mark III+ microprocessor platform, featuring a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen interface that provides system monitoring, electrical metering, event logging, and diagnostics. It supports automatic testing, pressure monitoring, and communication capabilities for integration with building management systems.

This controller uses a wye-delta open transition starting method, where the motor initially starts in a wye configuration to reduce starting current, then transitions to delta connection for full-voltage operation. During startup the motor draws approximately 33% of normal inrush current and produces about 33% starting torque, helping reduce electrical stress on the power supply.

Built with heavy-duty industrial components and compliant with fire protection standards, the controller is widely used in commercial buildings, industrial plants, and high-rise facilities where reliable fire pump operation is critical.
