Select a variant:
The Kitz Check Valve is a self-acting, non-return valve that automatically prevents backflow in pipeline systems by allowing fluid to flow in one direction only — opening under forward flow pressure and closing immediately when flow reverses or stops, protecting pumps, compressors, and downstream equipment from backflow damage and pressure surge. Manufactured to JIS B2011, ANSI/MSS SP-80, and other international standards, Kitz check valves are available in four primary configurations to suit different installation requirements and flow conditions: the Swing Check uses a hinged disc that swings open under forward flow and closes by gravity and back pressure, ideal for horizontal pipelines with moderate to high flow rates in water supply, HVAC, and general industrial systems; the Lift Check uses a piston or disc that lifts off its seat under forward flow and drops back to seal under reverse pressure, suitable for high-pressure and vertical pipeline installations in steam and process systems; the Wafer Check is a compact, lightweight dual-plate design that fits between flanges without additional piping space, ideal for large-diameter pipelines in water treatment plants and fire protection systems; and the Y-Pattern Swing Check features an angled body that reduces turbulence and pressure drop, commonly used in steam and high-pressure process applications. Available in bronze and brass (Class 125/150), cast iron (JIS 5K/10K), ductile iron, stainless steel, and carbon steel body materials, with threaded, flanged, and solder end connections across sizes from 1/4" to 12". Lead-free (KEEPALLOY®) and NSF61-certified variants are also available for potable water applications.
